Introduction

Hardening or induration (sclerosis) of the skin of the fingers &/or toes.

Etiology

• systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) & CREST syndrome
• insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus
• trauma
• drugs (i.e. bleomycin)
• toxins Diffential diagnosis:
  • dactylitis (sausage digit)
