Epidemiology

• sexually transmitted infection predominately been seen among sexually active gay men (Type VII)

Clinical manifestations

• painful, coin-sized rashes on the arms, buttocks, trunk, legs & genitals (Type VII)

Laboratory

• Trichophyton mentagrophytes serology
  • Trichophyton mentagrophytes IgE in serum
  • Trichophyton mentagrophytes IgG in serum

Management

• oral antifungal agent for serveral weeks
