Erosive Esophagitis

Clinical manifestations

• symptoms of GERD
  • burning sensation in the anterior chest, usually after meals
  • unresponsive to proton pump inhibitor

Diagnostic procedures

• upper GI endoscopy
  • superficial esophageal erosions may be associated with minor bleeding

Differential diagnosis

• eosinophilic esophagitis
  • food impaction. odynophagia & dysphagia
