Procedure
- a long, thin, flexible tube that is inserted into a large vein in the upper arm
Complications
- midline catheters develop more partial occlusions (inability to draw blood) than do PICC lines[1]

- unclear how this differs from a peripherally-inserted central venous catheter (PICC)
