Indications
- experimental treatment of intractable cancer pain[1]
Dosage
Adverse effects
- loss of heat sensitivity in the dermatomes exposed to Lopain
- urinary retention
- transient increase in the ECG QT interval
- decubitus ulcer
Mechanism of action
- nonopioid analgesic
- transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 ion channel (TRPV1),
- selectively interrupts nociceptive activity transmitted by a subpopulation of dorsal root ganglion neurons.
