Etiology
- supraventricular arrhythmias
- ventricular arrhythmias
- premature ventricular contractions (PVCs)
- high burden of PVCs: > 10% of all beats or > 10,000 per day
- more common in overweight men with PVCs
- premature ventricular contractions (PVCs)
Clinical manifestations
- heart failure
- palpitations
- may be asymptomatic
Diagnostic procedures
- see palpitations
Management
- rate control with beta-blocker ?
- catheter ablation
- both symptoms & left ventricular function may improve with treatment
