Indications

surgical procedure establishing a direct communication of the stomach with the jejunum, by passing the duodenum

marginal ulcers after gastrojejunostomy
- can bleed or perforate & require revisional surgery
- NSAIDs double risk of marginal ulcers (14% vs 7%)^[4]
  - parenteral NSAIDs associated with higher risk than oral NSAIDs
  - proton pump inhibitors reduce risk (RR=0.6)^[4]
